Behind the Scenes at CC

Here is a photo taken by our staff photographer, James Olsen, showing what goes on in our monthly meetings at the Calvinistic Cartoons office in Metropolis. I am always ready to pay extra for good ideas from my writers. This is one of our "think tank" sessions where we discuss the future of Calvinistic Cartoons and time travel in general.
The man standing is Bleppo Marx, a man who claims to be related to the Marx Brothers - all except for Zeppo.
The guy holding the glass of Pepsi, is Monroe Ribbits, a former librarian at the Spurgeon Archives.
The man holding the photo of his wife, is Felix Toyota, the author of several books on pancake batter.
Flying to Metropolis every month is expensive and tiring, but I feel it's worth it if you get a laugh or two out of this humble blog that has been traced back to the civil war.
BTW...I don't smoke. I am demonstrating a post situation for the month of June. We  use many props in our think tank sessions. Props with meaning. Props of kindness. Props of love.
Here at Calvinistic Cartoons we value readership and leadership. So we have decided to start reading what we have written and double checking for msplled werds.
I suspect someone in this group is a mole for Arminian Antics. I just haven't been able to figure it out.

What Do YOU Think?

Blogger, Facebook or both?
As I was surfing cyber-waves off the coast of Blogger Bay, I noticed that some had decided to quit their blogging and pack up and move to Facebook Village. Some of the reasons were for evangelistic purposes. One stated directly that he had more visits on his facebook page than he did on his blog. So another voiced his opinion that he should quit and stick with Facebook.
I have a friend who used to post a comment, now and then, on THIS blog - had his own site - got discouraged because he didn't have a hundred followers in his six month existence in the blogosphere - and now is fully devoted to his Facebook page as his "ministry". I never hear from him unless I post something on his Facebook page.
I have a Facebook page myself. I spend very little time on it. Usually, I just slap a Calvinistic Cartoon on it or post a video there, then leave.
There are pros and cons here. I just don't really know what they are. I was hoping some of you could share some advice.
What do you think?

Coffee House #6

This episode of Coffee House Confidential is brought to you by
the Bumper Sticker Study Bible,
Genesis through Revelation - One bumper sticker at a time!
(with sticky notes by Flavius Joe Cephas)

This week takes me to "City Sippers", a coffee shop located in Mudstump, Oklahoma. I had my mini-recorder microphone hidden at a table where two Christian pastors were locked in an interesting discussion. Let's have a listen:

Sam: I don't follow any MAN! I follow Christ! You see, I'm not a Calvinist OR an Arminian - I just believe the Bible! Besides, Paul condemns your divisive ways in 1 Corinthians 1:12...y'know, one says "I am of Apollos, another, I am of Paul..."
Dave: Paul is condemning the practice of putting God's servants on "celebrity status" which is a form of idolatry...and he is condemning a spiritual pride that looks down it's sinful nose at other Christians. The group that states, "I am of Christ" in that passage had a Pharisaical attitude of one-upmanship. Because men are prone to wander from God, following ANYONE who claims he is a "Christian" but, who make HIMSELF the authority over Scripture - who exhalts HIS name over the Lord Jesus Christ, or who demands obedience to his own interpretation is just plain stupid! Paul never did that and neither did Calvin!
Spurgeon said, "Calvinism is nothing more than a nickname for Biblical Christianity." He was spot on. Calvinism isn't adherence to a person, but to a set of beliefs which are rightly in accord with the Word of God!
Sam: The Bible is my map. I don't need someone telling me how to read it...including you!
Dave: To understand a map fully you need to know how to read it. That's why they print a "legend" on the map. It reveals more about the map itself. It helps you to interpret the symbols and explains what you are viewing in precise detail!
Sam: Who needs it? I never use a "legend". I just track where I am going and go.
Dave: Listen, Arminianism has taken the original map and blackened out certain highways and drawn in alternate routes that run contrary to reality! It has pasted their OWN legend over the right one, that in no way conforms to the facts! This is not only misleading, but an act of extreme arrogance as well!
Sam: I told you before, I don't follow a man. I believe man has total free will and that God sovereignly gave man the last word in his own salvation. He can vote yes or he can vote no. It all centers around what MAN will do with his choice. It is not up to God to decide. It left that in our hands.
Dave: Then you are not an Arminian - you are a "Harminian". You hurt yourself and others with your "God-as-cosmic-bellhop" propaganda.
Sam: For that, no more frappuccinos.
Dave: I was the one who bought the coffee, not you.
Sam: Oh yeah.

Five Things to Mention

1. I have been getting comments on my Facebook page about my blog postings. I appreciate that, I really do...but, I would prefer them on Calvinistic Cartoons. (or both) I spend very little time on Facebook, probably an average of fifteen or twenty minutes a week. I am glad for the new friendships made, so please don't take this wrong. Comments on CC seem a lot more "permanent" to me and help things move along. Comments here also prompt others to respond.

2. The Limerick contest is still on and will end soon and I am including in the winners prize packet a few of my tracts, a few of my blog cards, and a one hundred dollar bill from my Monopoly game.

3. Do you have heart trouble? Maybe an original love song will help. It's FREE! So take advantage of this musical offer at: http://www.lovesongsforsale.com/index.php/lsfs-news/free-song.html

4. I have a HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT to make in August...so please stay tuned!

5. This is just my own simple-minded survey. I would like to know what feature or type of humor you prefer at CC.

Thanks everyone!
