Stopping CC for a While
As much as I have enjoyed CC and as much as many of you have enjoyed CC, I am putting on the brakes, so to speak, for a few months. I don't know if I can hold out that long, to be honest with you. CC has become an obsession with me as of late. I think about it too much. It not good for my health, in many ways. Problem is, CC has become more than a past time - it has become an addiction. People give up things for various reasons - years ago, I had to stop, cold turkey, playing a computer game called "City of Heroes", because it dominated my life to the point where I was not studying and reading the Word like I should. So I put a stop to it and never returned. This is why I am putting a stop to CC for a undetermined length of time. Coca-Cola will no longer be my main soft drink. I am switching to a drink with vitamin C - probably an Orange or Grape drink for a while. I will return to CC in the future, but for now, I will be stopping, cold turkey!

Blood Shed
I have heard many a preacher say that Christ blood was spilled at the cross. This is not so! The Greek is more precise, and so should we be if we want to communicate God's purpose and redemptive plan. The Bible NEVER says Christ spilled his blood on Calvary. It ALWAYS uses the word "shed".
"And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins."
Matthew 26: 26-28

Eddie's Advice Column #3

Dear Eddie,
When I formed our Christian Rock group, "Dirt & Spittle", a year ago, I believed everyone in the band was a follower of Christ. Well, we are now having trouble with our drummer, Mucus Langley. Seems he has a drinking problem like his father. Each night we perform he will disappear after the first set. When we are about to conclude our gig, he always stands up and drunkenly yells, "Hallelujah" and collapes on his drums, knocking everything over, including himself. What should we do?
Your fan,
Paul McCarkey
Dear Paul,
Your friend seems to be swallowing in his father's footsteps.
First, witness to him. You might begin with Psalm 141:10 from the New Living Translation: "The wicked fall into their own snares, but let me escape."
If he doesn't repent, call KFC and order a pair of drumsticks to be delivered to his house with the note: "Dude, until your heart is right with God, these are the only drumsticks you will be allowed to use. Until then, you are being replaced by a drum machine. Meanwhile, I am here if you need to talk."
I am sending you, free of charge, "The Gospel of John for Drummers". It is no different from any other Gospel of John. It just has a specialized cover that depicts Lazarus and the sons of Zebedee playing drums in Heaven.
Your friend,
Eddie

Fan Photo from Ike Lopez
Longtime fan, Ike Lopez, discovered this ad in an ancient issue of The Saturday Evening Post-Millennialist he found in an abandoned bounce castle. He sent this photo to me with a small note asking for twenty dollars and a bag of pork rinds. I am only too happy to send financial aid to those who take the time to find evidence of Cotton Adams' amazing inventions or creations. My research is limited to his journals. His soft drink formula has been lost, but Calvinistic "formula" for preaching the Word is still with us to this day! (note to Ike: I taped the twenty to a postcard and sent it your way this morning. The bag of rinds should arrive at your house in a few days. Thanks again.)
